My sister got the "Special Edition" model Keurig with the digital display on the right side. I have no control over the brewing of my coffee. You're kidding me. In other words I think this "Elite" model is $40 cheaper and just as good. No cleanup, either. And with the brew cycle taking less than one minute, a timer didn't seem necessary either.
I decided to put one of these on my Amazon wish list after a checkup at the doctor suggested I was consuming too much caffeine; I figured the single-cup brewer would help me cut down, and if I drank two cups of really good coffee a day instead of 5-6 cups of /pretty/ good coffee, I'd be just as happy (and awake) and maybe a little bit healthier. But then we got one at my office on a two-week trial, and I had to admit the coffee it brewed was much better than the stuff I made myself. I did get one as a Christmas present and have not been disappointed. It uses near-boiling pressurized water to brew the coffee, which makes the coffee generally a lot tastier than what I made with my regular coffeemaker (an excellent Krups model, which I still keep around for when I need to make a whole pot for guests). I'm a very picky coffee person who used to look on these Keurig machines with total derision. But I've found even the 9.5oz setting is plenty strong for me, and like it very strong. It's dead simple to use; just put water in the side tank, let it heat, pop in the K-cup, put the cup under the spout, hit the size of cup you want, and the coffee is ready in less than a minute.
It's also quite fun to sample all the different coffee and tea options available in the K-cups. I was surprised to find such a wide selection of blends available. This machine has two cup size settings, a 7.5 ounce setting (= the size of a standard coffee mug) and a 9.5 ounce setting. No thanks. This allows you to make adjustments to the brewing temperature, adds a timer, and gives you a third, 5.5oz brew size.
Even the lighter blends produce a rich flavor and aroma, and the dark blends (which I prefer) are out of this world. Of course it's the same amount of coffee grounds being distributed, so the 7.5oz setting produces a stronger brew. Given that the 7.5oz size produces quite a strong brew, the 5.5oz size seems unnecessary. Enjoy.
The machine comes with stale coffee pods, makes horrible tasting coffee, and one cannot find decent readily available replacement pods. I purchased this product with great anticipation since my sister-in-law has a single cup coffee maker. I have never been more disappointed and frustrated with any product in my life. I tried to return the coffee maker and Amazon told me I had to deal with the manufacturer and the manufacturer wanted to charge me a shipping fee to return the coffee maker plus a restocking fee making it more expensive to return than I paid for it.right in the trash can and thanks alot Amazon and Keurig. I have learned a valuable lesson about shop[ing on-line.don't do it.
It's the best way to enjoy that cup of coffee that you love. It makes life so much easier now.
I never knew that coffee making could be so easy now with the K-cups that have the premeasured amount of coffee already. You just pop one of these K-cups in and in about a minute your coffee is in your cup.
This is one of the best coffee makers that I have ever purchased and was well worth the money. This is truly a must buy for all those who enjoy their coffee.
The flavors are fantastic. You can even make your hot chocolate or teas with the premeasured K-cups, as well.
Buy one and you won't ever regret it. Excellent.
I think you have to experience having this system for a couple weeks to realize how much fun it actually is.The variety of flavors, blends and roasts should be suitable for everyone. I purchsed the B40 because I found myself throwing out as much leftover coffee as my family was drinking. I have to say that I am totally surprised at the quality, ease of use and engineering of this product. I find the coffee to be delicious and can't understand reviews that are negative about the coffee unless you spent hundreds on a maker as I did and you have to believe your choice was worthy. Also my previous maker would always create some kind of cleanup for me daily that was driving me crazy so I did a little research and purchsed the B40.I was concerned at first about the cost of coffee and the availability of the k-cups etc however I find that the cost factor is about the same if you find yourself throwing away coffee everyday as I was. You must also consider that the speed and ease of use, not to mention the fact that you can make what ever flavor each person desires at that moment should deserve a bit of a premium. If you can't find a flavor you love than I am speechless. I wish I had purchased this prior to buying my Capresso maker.
I have a small office with two coffee drinkers who used to drink too much coffee or throw away a 1/2 pot daily. Now we just make a cup when we want it and it is brewed to perfection.
